SHARE JESUS

Today's Reading: 2 Sam. 4,5; Ps. 139; Matt. 16
SCRIPTURE

Matt. 16:15,16[TNIV]
"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"
Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God."

OBSERVATION

We go to the Bible with certain anticipations; certain hopes. We hope for a word of knowledge, or perhaps our "daily bread". We do not open it hoping to be convicted yet on any given day it does have within its page that potential. We go to it to discover Jesus, and to allow the Holy Spirit to use the Word to mold us, make us, move us.
Some day's, like today we come to a passage that might seem to be "old hat".
We come to a verse that is so familiar. Those been there done that verses. We come to verses like Peter declaring Jesus the Messiah, the Son of the living God and we could quickly move on, looking for something, we aren't so familiar with. This morning the Holy Spirit gave me pause, "Stop, go back, that's the verse - Messiah, the Son of the living God."

APPLICATION

I am at a regional conference hearing things I already know about Jesus, about the Word of God.
I am at a regional conference being convicted that I need to play out the simple truths with more passion.
Could it really be this simple, "Read your Bible, Pray to God, Share Jesus with others."
I am at a regional conference being convinced that two out of three just isn't going to get it, isn't going to be good enough. I need to share Jesus more. Share the Messiah, Share the Son of the living God.

PRAYER

Holy Spirit,
Thanks for the gut check. Thanks for not letting me run by this Scripture. Thanks for pointing out this simple truth. YOU DON'T KNOW THE STORY, IF YOU AREN'T SHARING THE STORY. YOU DON'T KNOW THE STORY,IF YOU AREN'T TELLING IT!

Jesus, Christ, Lord, Anointed One, Messiah, Savior, Son of the living God.
Have mercy on me, a sinner.
