SCRIPTURE
ROMANS 6:12-13[NLT]
12 Do not let sin control the way you live;* do not give in to sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.
OBSERVATION
There are two kinds of sins, sins of commission and sin of omission. When it comes to "giving yourselves completely to God" it's the sins of omission that I seem to fail at most. I don't use my heart enough to put others before me, I don't use my mind enough to dwell on other possible viewpoints, or reasons. I'm lazy sometimes when it comes to remembering, simple things like peoples names, or memorizing Scripture. I waste a lot of time and don't stay focused on what God would have me accomplish on any given day. I tend to eat to feel good rather than to feel healthy and my diet reflects the same type of sinning - what I'm not putting in my body is as bad as what I do put it my body. It's not just don't have the cookie, it's have a piece of fruit instead. It's trading coffee for water. It's working more than I play.
APPLICATION
FOCUS - and don't make daily living so much about the "DON'T" - make it about the "DO'S "
Make it about others, make it about God
PRAYER
Holy Spirit,
Work a work in me that only you can work. Give me fresh eyes to see, pure heart to do, sharp mind to remember, and a soul that is only satisfied when it did more in any given day to bring glory to God rather than pleasure to itself.

Romans 6:12-13, cf v.6ff, These verses give me insight into the meaning of Christ saving me from my sins. He saved me from the power, slavery, death, and passion of sin. THEREFORE, I choose to live free!
"God, I present all of me, every part, to you as an instrument and instruments for righteousness."
