DON'T RUN AWAY FROM SOMETHING... RUN TO SOMETHING!

SCRIPTURE
2 Timothy 2:22 [MSG] 22 Run away from infantile indulgence. Run after mature righteousness—faith, love, peace—joining those who are in honest and serious prayer before God.
2 Timothy 2:22 [NLT] 22 Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.

OBSERVATION
Run away from... Run after [to] ... Join with others!

APPLICATION
Years ago I was discouraged with the job that I had and was given this advise; "Don't run from this job, run to a job". That advise is played out here in this Scripture; "Don't run away from sin, run to righteousness, too faith, love and peace."
Then the author raises the stakes and instructs us to join with others [I love how the Message says it] who are in honest and serious prayer before God. At this point my heart broke. I've been a associate pastor for 10 years and I only know a few people in our church who "are in honest and serious prayer before God."

PRAYER,
Lord,
In your name, I ask: Lead me to others in our church that want to be in honest and serious prayer before You.
Intercessors, who pray for others! Honestly and seriously!
