TO A THOUSAND GENERATIONS

TODAY'S READING: Deut.7-9; Mark 15 [TNIV]

SCRIPTURE

Mark 15:37-29 With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last. The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died, he said, "Surely this man was the Son of God!"
Deut. 7:9 [9] Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

OBSERVATION

I look to the cross and I wonder, "WHY?" Why would he do this for me?
I look to the sky, and I hear, "WHY NOT!" "I loved you before the foundations of the earth, I am your God, and I am faithful to those who love me, and keep my commandments.

APPLICATION

I will love Him, because He first loved me.
I will obey Him, but not out of obedience, I will obey Him out of gratitude.
I will obey Him, because He first loved me.

PRAYER

Father,
When I read of the cross, - it's just unbelievable - the extend of your love.
Holy Spirit,
Teach me to be obedient, and forever thankful.
Thankful that God loves me.
Obedient to share that love with others.
Jesus,
All I want is you, more and more of you.
That I might share you with others.
