ALL THINGS CONSIDERED

TODAY'S READING: 1 Sam. 19; 1 Chr.7; Ps. 59; Mt. 4

SCRIPTURE

Matt. 4: 19a "Come, follow me." Jesus said.
OBSERVATION

There is a great transition in Matthew chapter 4, the author moves the story from the devil engaging Jesus to Jesus engaging others. The transition is at verse 16, quoting the prophet Isaiah, we read; "... the people living in darkness have seen a great light, on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned."
At the beginning of the chapter the devil is telling Jesus, come follow me.
Jesus' response, v. 10; Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Stan! For it is written, 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only."
Next thing you know, Jesus is saying; "Come, follow me."

APPLICATION

I hear both voices, each and every day.
All things considered, on my best days, I listen to Jesus. I follow Him, I worship the Lord my God, and I serve him only.

PRAYER

Holy Spirit,
All things considered, help me get to; "ONLY". Help me, follow Him, worship Him, and serve Him ONLY!"
Help me, all things considered, Help me.
