CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

TODAY'S READING: 2 Sam. 1; Ps. 140; Mt. 13

SCRIPTURE

Mt. 13: 9 “Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

OBSERVATION

Don’t miss the story line, if we go back to chapter 12 in begins with, [v.1] “At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. [v.9] going on from that place, he went into their synagogue and heals a man, and the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus [v.15] Aware of this, Jesus withdraw from that place, and apparently when to a house, because at chapter 13 v.1 we read; That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. Between chapter 12 v.15 and chapter 13 v. 1; Jesus is followed by a large crowd and healed all who where ill. Heals a demon-possessed man, has several confrontations with the Pharisees and is busy talking with the crowds when his mother and brothers show up wanting to speak with him. We don’t know if he ever actually had a conversation with his mother and brothers, but we do know he took a little break [13 v.1] and sat by the lake.
[13 v.2] Tell us “such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. Then he told the many things in parables...

APPLICATION

Here’s the point, if Jesus in the busyness of His life took the time to talk.
Shouldn’t I in the busyness of mine, stop to listen.

PRAYER

Father,
There is a part of me that just wants to head to the lake.
That’s not going to happen today.
But I will sit and listen
Thanks for talking
