TODAY'S READING: 1 Sam. 28,29; Ps. 109; Mt. 11
Scripture
Matt. 11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Observation
This late in the week and this early in the morning I can't get my head around yokes and burdens, but this I can grab hold of: COME TO ME, LEARN FROM ME, I AM GENTLE AND HUMBLE IN HEART, FIND REST FOR YOUR SOUL.
Application
So, I come to Jesus, just like the old hymn suggests, "Just as I am" - I come to learn to be gentle and humble of heart, I come to rest my soul.
Prayer
Father,
Just as I am Thou wilt receive, Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; Because Thy promise I believe, O LAMB OF GOD, I come, I come.
