TODAY'S READING: 2 Sam.7; 1 Chr. 17; Ps. 2; Mt. 20
SCRIPTURE
2 Sam. 7:22 [22] "How great you are, Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.
Matt. 20:29-34 As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. [30] Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!" [31] The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!" [32] Jesus stopped and called them. "What do you want me to do for you?" he asked. [33] "Lord," they answered, "we want our sight." [34] Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.
OBSERVATION
In Sam. 7 we find David shouting to the LORD, "How great you are, there is no one like you, there is no God but you.
In Matt. 20, we find to Blind men shouting; "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!"
When they were told to be quiet, the Bible tells us they shouted all the louder.
We learn that Jesus had compassion on them, touched their eyes and immediately they could see and followed him.
APPLICATION
Every now and then I loose sight of my Savior, I loose sight of Jesus. The way to regain focus for me is to shout: GOD IS GREAT, THERE IS NO ONE LIKE YOU, NO OTHER GOD BUT YOU. Believing that, follow him.
PRAYER
Holy Spirit,
Give me eyes to see a Saviour
Give me ears to hear your voice.
Give me the boldness, to proclaim Your Love.
TO SHOUT, GOD IS GREAT! THERE IS NOT ONE LIKE YOU!
