TODAY'S READING: 2 SAM.10; 1CHR.20; PS.20; MT.22
SCRIPTURE
1 Chronicles 20:1 In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war... David remained in Jerusalem.
OBSERVATION
David, beloved of God, was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He remained in Jerusalem, he should have been fighting the fight. He going to end up making one of the biggest mistakes of his life.
APPLICATION
One of the great reasons to read the Bible is to learn from other people’s mistakes.
It’s good to stop and reflect. Am I where God wants me? Am I doing what God wants me to do? Am I being who God created me to be?
PRAYER
Father,
In today’s reading of Matthew Jesus is quoted saying; “Love the Lord our God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Teach me to live there, then I’ll know I’m where you want me to be, doing want you’d have me to do, being who you created me to be.
