GET DRESSED

TODAY'S READING: Proverbs 19-21; Romans 13

SCRIPTURE

ROMANS 13:[14] Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

OBSERVATION

So how do we get beyond the face value of the verse? How do we "clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ"? How do we wrap ourselves around Jesus? I think Paul gave us the answer in verse 8 of this same chapter. Rom. 13:8 says: "Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law."
The Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest example of someone "loving one another".
Let's wrap ourselves around that, putting others first and we won't have time to gratify our own sinful nature

APPLICATION

I'm going to look for opportunities to love others and then do it.
I'm going to get dressed and wear the love of Christ today.
I'm going to love others, because I am loved by God.

PRAYER

Father,
Thank you for loving me first.
Thank you for loving me always.
Thank you for teaching me to love.
Give me the opportunities today to be love to someone else.
Keep me from the desires of my sinful nature by filling my live with other people.
May the greatest need I meet today be someone else's.
Thank you for loving me, now help me get dressed.
