EVERYTHING

SCRIPTURE
COLOSSIANS 3:16-17 [Message] Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! 17 Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.
COLOSSIANS 3:16-17[ESV] Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

OBSERVATION
It just does not seem possible to get to "do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus" without "letting the Word of Christ - the Message - have the run of the house."
To "do" what the Word says you have to hear it.
Having heard the Word I really ought to "do" whatever it says.

APPLICATION
How much time do I really spend in God's Word?
How much of what I hear in the Word, do I apply to my life?
Do I pick and choose?
What does, "do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus" look like?

PRAYER
Father,
Get me to - "EVERYTHING"
To doing everything in the name of the Lord Jesus.
May I not only hunger after your Word,
May I live it out in my life more often then not.
