GAINT SLAYER

SCRIPTURE
1 SAMUEL 17:45-47 [Message] David answered, “You come at me with sword and spear and battle-ax. I come at you in the name of God-of-the-Angel-Armies, the God of Israel’s troops, whom you curse and mock. 46 This very day God is handing you over to me. I’m about to kill you, cut off your head, and serve up your body and the bodies of your Philistine buddies to the crows and coyotes. The whole earth will know that there’s an extraordinary God in Israel. 47 And everyone gathered here will learn that God doesn’t save by means of sword or spear. The battle belongs to God—he’s handing you to us on a platter!”
1 SAMUEL 17:45-47 [ESV] 45 Then David said to the Philistine, You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, 47 and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hand.

OBSERVATION
We all have giants in our lives.
We all have terrible, horrible, no good, very bad days.
The question is do we all have a God that is waiting, willing and ready to fight our battles.
And even if we do - do we let Him fight for us?

APPLICATION
Get out of God's way.
Claim the victory before the fight, that's what David did: "This day the Lord will deliver..."
Give God the Glory

PRAYER
Father,
You know the fights we have in front of us.
In Jesus name, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Remind me to be like David, claiming victory before the fight. Calling on You and You alone.
I can have a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
Or I can claim the truth of Your Word.
This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and me glad in it.
Thank you for fighting my fights.
