WHAT IS GOOD?

REFERENCE
Lamentation 3:25-28 [ESV] The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. 26 It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. 27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. 28 Let him sit alone in silence when it is laid on him;

EXPLORATION
God expects to be sought after.
God's salvation is more than something that happened, it is happening; we are saved and being saved.
These verses reveal some qualities of genuine faith: (1) belief in God’s goodness to those who trust in him; (2) confidently and without complaint waiting for God’s help; and (3) willingness to accept hardship and testing, knowing that they strengthen faith. Those who truly trust in the Lord do not complain or despair even when in trouble (cf. Ps 34:9; 86:5; Isa 30:15; Matt 11:28–30). Those who learn in youth to bear suffering are better prepared for the hardships that may come in old age.

APPLICATION
Seek Him
Wait for Him
Accept the bad with the good.

PRAYER
Father,
To believe in a God that only blesses is to believe in a lie.
To believe in a God that always loves is the truth.
Sometimes love is tough.
Help me to deal with it!
