SO WHO ARE YOU WEARING?

TODAY'S READING: Deut. 19-21; Gal. 3

SCRIPTURE

Gal. 3:26-28 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, [27] for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. [28] There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

OBSERVATION

Anytime I see bookends in Scripture, [phrases repeating themselves] I have to ask; "What are they holding up? In v.26 we read: So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God and then v.28 ends with: ...for you are all one in Christ Jesus. So what's in the middle? What is "in Christ Jesus" holding up? It's holding up our identity. In v. 27 we read that we are "clothed with Christ", Who are You Wearing?

APPLICATION

Whether it's the Academy Awards, or the Oscars, or some other high society social event, we've become familiar with the question being asked of celebrities, "So, Who are you wearing?"
When people see me, on the golf course, downtown, at the gym, in the grocery store, at the mall, on a school campus, in the park, just walking around the neighborhood. Do they see me wearing Christ Jesus? Do I look different enough to make people wonder not about my clothing but about my countenance. I want to wear Jesus, not on my sleeve, I want to be wrapped up in Him.

PRAYER

Father,
In true humility I ask, Make me attractable, wrap me in Jesus. If people notice me, let them notice, "Christ in me, me in Christ"
Be glorified!
