TODAY’S READING: Deut. 32-24; 1 Cor. 2
SCRIPTURE
Deut. 32:3,4 I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!
[4] He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.
OBSERVATION
At the end of Deuteronomy Moses is nearing the end of his life. And at the end of life he is testifying to his trust in God. Moses was allowed to bring the people of Israel out of Egypt but not into the Promised Land because of his own disobedience. Yet instead of a pity party for himself, instead of reminding God, "Yeah, I screwed up, but I wasn’t as bad as so and so was or as bad as so and so is going to be." Instead Moses, testifies to God’s greatness, and much more. I will proclaim - I will shout - LORD! PRAISE HIS GREATNESS, tell of His perfect works, and His just ways. A FAITHFUL GOD, A JUST GOD. How did Moses get there? At the end of his life, instead of pouting about not getting to go to the Promised Land, he praises God. Moses looked beyond his disappointment to his destiny. He was used of God to take a people, some place he himself was going to get to go. By the God that got him to the door, is a God you’ve got to adore. FAITHFUL, JUST, UPRIGHT and GREAT.
APPLICATION
Moses in his lasts days didn’t spend tie reflecting on the things he didn’t understand. He spend his time remembering the things he did understand. God redeemed him, he might not be in the promised land but he wasn’t in Egypt. And most of all, he wasn’t alone, he was will a God who not only journeyed with him here, but is sure to journey with him for eternity. With God there is always something better, than the best that we can imagine. So I will trust in His greatness, His perfect works and His just ways. I will trust in a faithful God.
The God of Abraham, Jacob, Isaac, and Jacob. The God of Moses. My God.
PRAYER
Father,
There is lots I don’t understand, and the devil would love it if I choose not to trust you.
I choose to trust what I know, for I’ve seen your faithfulness, I believe you are great. And even though I don’t always understand your ways or works, I will trust them to be perfect and just. For I’ve seen your love, it hung on a cross, was buried, AND ROSE AGAIN.
I choose to trust the witness.
