TODAY'S READING: Ruth 3,4; Ps.64,65; 2 Cor. 6
Scripture
2 Cor. 6: 2c & 16B I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation. [16B] For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
Observation
Where in these verses does it talk about life going perfect and everything working out just the way “we” planned it. It doesn’t say that any where but isn’t that what we read into it, when - we hear: “God’s favor”, “salvation.”
Look between verses 2 and 16 and you read about all of Paul’s hardships. Should we think or expect that our lives will turn out any different?
The promise of God’s favor, the promise of salvation; is that we are His temple, and He dwells in us. He lives with us. He walks with us. And He is our God, NOW!
Application
Live in the reality that whatever may come my way; I’m not alone.
Recognize that God’s favor is God’s presence and He isn’t going to allow His temple to be destroyed.
Prayer
Father,
Thank you for loving me before I recognized that love.
Thank you for wanting to be apart of my life and more than that for allowing me to be apart of Yours.
Teach me to be available, available to You and to others.
