TODAY'S READING: 1 Sam. 13; 1 Chr. 2,3; 2 Cor. 12 [TNIV]
SCRIPTURE
2 Cor. 12:9,10 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. [10] That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
OBSERVATION
The verse starts w/ "But he said to me," - What Jesus said to Paul, [audibly, way cool] He has says to me, [in this His Word]. He has said, His grace is sufficient for me, His power is made perfect is weakness. Paul goes on to boast, to me glad, to delight in weakness, insults, hardships, persecutions, and difficulties. Saying, when I'm weak, then I'm strong
APPLICATION
I'm not there yet, I wanna be! But to be honest; in weakness I sulk, when insulted, I want revenge, in hardship I often quit, in persecution, what persecution - to be honest I think it's more imagined than really, in difficulties I play the poor me card or pout.
It's time to claim the grace. The grace that is sufficient for me. Time to claim the power of a risen Savior. It's time to boast in my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. I wanna be like Paul, I wanna be filled with Jesus' grace. I want His power. I want to boast about Him. I wanna be!
PRAYER
Lord Jesus,
In all situations, good and bad and in between; by the power of the Holy Spirit; turn my eyes, turn my heart, turn my soul to You.
Allow me to experience Your grace in all situations
Allow me to boast of Your power, demonstrated in my life
Get me beyond, Wanna be.
Amen.
