END GAME

TODAY'S READING: 1 Chr. 22-24; 1 Th. 3

SCRIPTURE

1 Th. 3:12,13 May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. [13] May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

OBSERVATION

In the end Jesus comes, in the end I want to be one of his holy ones. Blameless and holy in the presence of God. If my heart is right, a heart full of love for others that follow "the Way" and for those that don't and if I allow God to strengthen me, I'll get there.

APPLICATION

I need to show up every day and allow the Lord to work in me, increasing my ability to love and strengthen my heart.
I need to take the pain, for the reality is that without effort there really is no gain.

PRAYER

Father,
It's just like working out at the gym --
I'm convinced my job is to show up and yours is to show me how to be all that you would have me to be.
I'm to be available, humble, willing, and without my own agenda.
I'm to focus on the end game, being counted among the holy ones with Jesus.
You'll come up with the "program".
I'm to do the exercises.

NOTE: I'm going to use this text to preach at KCC this coming Sunday:
I've titled the sermon: WHAT FAILURE SHOULD LOOK LIKE
