WATCH, WAIT, WONDER

TODAY'S READING: 2 Sam. 13,14; Mt. 24

SCRIPTURE

Matthew 24:42 Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your LORD will come.

OBSERVATION

KEEP WATCH - BE READY!

APPLICATION

This morning my brother's contacted me to let me know my father is in very poor health and probably has a very short time to live. I've spent most of the day at the hospital and just came home to get some dinner and then go back at midnight if he hasn't passed away by then. I'm not really sad that he is dying, I'm sad that it has been so long since he lived. We learn from the people in the Bible and we learn from the people God places in our lives. It has been a long time since my father has enjoyed life, in that regard I refuse to be like him. But that He is lying in a hospital bed knowing that there is a better place to be, that I will always admire and emulate. I think life is better than my father ever got to experience for whatever reason. But as good as it it, there is some place better yet, and I'm keeping watch for it.

PRAYER

Father,
May the day of our LORD come.
May in come quickly for my father.
May in come quickly for all who believe.
Between now and then may more come to believe
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Uncle Joe,
Thank you! I feel the same way about a lot of what you said. I think Grandpa has had a hard time enjoying life since Grandma passed away. I am so glad that he has been able to look forward to going to Heaven and being with her again. It was quite something yesterday when we visited with him. Instead of goodbye, it was "See you later". That makes it so much better!
Well, I love you (don't say that much to you!)and think your blog is great,
Beth
