CAME TO SAVE

TODAY'S READING: 2 Kings 1-3; Ps. 82; 1 Tim. 2

Scripture
1 Tim 1:15-17 [15] Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. [16] But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. [17] Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Observation
Oh to rest in the simple truths of the Bible, to reflect on God’s great love.
Like Paul, I’m a sinner, and like Paul; I’d claim to be the worst.
But Christ came to save! Christ came and showed mercy. Christ came and displayed immense patience. And He did it so that people would believe in him and receive eternal life.
To Christ be honor and glory, forever and ever. Let it be!

Application
That which Paul received, I receive. That which Paul claimed, I claim.
He who Paul praised, I praise. Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Prayer
Lord God Almighty;
Jesus saves! Let me just rest in that for a moment! Jesus saves, Jesus has saved me.
Jesus has shown mercy, where it was not due.
Jesus has shown patience, when it was not warranted.
And best of all, He didn’t do it just for me, He did it so that others too would believe and experience eternal life.
Jesus came to save, came to save more than me.
Help me to share Jesus, that Jesus might share this love with others.
