The Future Starts Now!

SCRIPTURE
1 Peter 1:3-5 [JB Phillips] Thank God, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, that in his great mercy we men have been born again into a life full of hope, through Christ's rising again from the dead! You can now hope for a perfect inheritance beyond the reach of change and decay, "reserved" in Heaven for you. And in the meantime you are guarded by the power of God operating through your faith, till you enter fully into the salvation which is all ready for the dénouement of the last day.
1 Peter 1:3-5 [Message] What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, 4 including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! 5 God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you’ll have it all—life healed and whole.

OBSERVATION
What a God!
What a Day!

APPLICATION
Short of Jesus returning for us today, today will pale compared to that great tomorrow.
Yet it is today that we have in front of us, and today, I will proclaim; "What a God!"

PRAYER
Father,
I claim the truth of Scripture for this Sunday morning; "Thank God, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, that in his great mercy we men have been born again into a life full of hope, through Christ's rising again from the dead! You can now hope for a perfect inheritance beyond the reach of change and decay, "reserved" in Heaven for you."

I'm not suggesting today will be without it's sorrows, just that I have a Savior.
I'm not suggesting that today won't be "messed up"; just that I will experience your mercy.
I'm not suggesting that today won't be without life's heaviness, just that I have hope.
I'm not suggesting that today will be "all that!" - just believing that tomorrow is so much more.
